So last 2 cables are just connected to nothing? Why the boards have a 10 pin instead of a 8 pin?

Mitsurugi blue/yellow cables on the first photo seem to have all 10 cables on the connector. But other people photos that I seen have only 8 of the 10 cables. Can someone explain the details of why these extra cables are or not needed?

Thank you so much 9999 Damage! It helps a lot, so the orientation is twisted as I described. What it surprise me is that only 8 of the 10 lanes actually connected. The cables I found have all 10, so I guess I should remove the last 2 cables?

I wonder if anyone has already put together a manual that don't mind to share. My end goal is to put together a printable manual with one page per game that I can keep next to the multi. I'm taking the US version as the reference for the dips, sure there it can be in theory version differences...
